How to Make Sure You Never Stop Growing or Grow Stagnant in Life

I think the one of the biggest challenges that I face as a follower of Christ is just being real with myself about where my heart is at and where I’m at in my walk with Christ.

Some days I feel like I’m right where I need to be. Other days the struggle is r-e-a-l, but on those days I would much rather pretend like I’m where I need to be rather than admitting that I’ve got some work to do.

In all honesty, the growth process is never done as a follower of Christ. There is always something that we can improve on, whether it is in the way that we love others, how we spend time with God, or in the decisions that we make. If you’ve got breath in your lungs, there is growth to be had, trust me.

The problem is that most of us grow complacent in where we are at instead of seeking new growth. The other problem is that whenever we notice changes in our lives that we probably should make, we turn a blind eye to them because we don’t want to put forth the effort to actually change.

I always try to be self-aware and self-accountable, but Christians were made for fellowship with others for many reasons. One of the reasons we were made to be in fellowship with each other is so we can have a form of accountability in our lives.

Without good direction, people lose their way; the more wise counsel you follow, the better your chances. Proverbs 11:14 (MSG)

Being self-aware and striving to be self-accountable are awesome things to do, but Proverbs 11:14 says it best. The more wise people you have in your life to hold you accountable and give you guidance, the better your chances are of keeping your feet on the right path and heading in a good Godly way.

It’s too easy to ignore changes that you know you need to make. It’s too easy to drift away from God and wander onto a different path. With all of the distractions and temptations in this life it is too easy to lose your way!

That is exactly why we need people who are like minded and wise to keep us accountable in our walk with God. We need people who we trust that we can be open with when we are struggling in our walk. We need people who can be honest with us in a loving way when they see changes that we may need to make in order to stay on the right path. Lastly, we need people who will hold us accountable to making those changes and making good decisions in our walk with God.

I want to challenge you all to find a few trustworthy people who can walk through life with you and keep you accountable in your relationship with God and in the way that you live. If you find yourself with a shortage of people to help keep you accountable, do your best to find at least one person that can be your go-to accountability partner!

Here’s to never-ending growth! Have a blessed week everyone! ❤
